Richard came to acting rather later than normal, have been side tracked into an IT
career for the first seventeen years of his working life. At the age of thirty five,
and with a distinct feeling that his life was being mapped out for him, Richard
fulfilled a life long ambition and trained professionally as an actor at ArtsEd,
graduating from their MA Acting Course in the summer of 2007.
Upon graduating, Richard immediately went on tour, attempting to educate and enlighten
school children across the country to the delights of Shakespeare and Steinbeck. On his
return, he appeared in a number of short films and in the summer of 2008, he spent four weeks
filming his first feature film, the mock-u-musical Frontman.
Theatrical highlights include playing Renfield in a brand new musical adaptation of
Dracula which played at the White Bear Theatre for four weeks.
Away from acting, Richard is a keen environmentalist, and enjoys nothing more than
growing his own vegetables, brewing cider, curing sausages, hams and salami, and
baking his own bread. He is also partial to the odd round of golf and when feeling slightly more
energetic, the odd set of tennis.
